(In fact, there will probably be a Sunday night “Wonders of God” installment on eagles pretty soon!)
Patience has never been a major characteristic of mine, so the verse in Isaiah constantly issues a challenge to me. “Wait,” it says. “Be patient,” it says. “Trust in God; He knows what He is doing.” Every day of our lives brings circumstances to further remind us that The Lord God is God above all others—there is no other.
The eagle also reminds us that as Christians, we were not meant to settle for mediocrity. We were meant to soar—and Jesus has made that possible. To be exact, His words in John 10:10 were that He came to provide abundant life.
In our private lives as well as in our lives together as a church body, we should never settle for less than is our privilege as children of God to possess. Let’s mount up on wings like eagles! Let’s feel the support from God under us! Let the breezes of His Holy Spirit carry us to places we may have never dreamed we could go.
To make it more personal, He loves you, and He wants to do this for you. Yes, it is God’s desire to help us soar above the circumstances, not waddle along the ground like a duck.
